UNEXPECTED OUTCOME

On December 1, 2007 and November 14, 2008 I had the opportunity to accomplish something I never imagined would happen.  I competed in two different World Power lifting meets in Las Vegas, breaking 9 world records between the two meets.  I'm not telling this to you to brag but to let you in on the events leading up to this achievement.  The before pictures on my photo page show where I was physically as well as mentally in July of 2004.  A 33 year old stay at home mom, 38% body fat and as unhappy as I could be.  However, the worst part was hidden inside of me and  most people didn't even know how I was feeling.  I was severely depressed and suicidal.  I had a two page list of prescription anti-depressant and sleeping pills that I had tried over the years and they were only providing temporary relief, if any at all.  The only thing I knew was how much I loved lifting weights and the high I got from working out.  On the advice of my doctor, I dragged my butt to the gym and started lifting.

LIFE CHANGING

After training a few weeks at Gold's Gym I had the opportunity  to meet an incredible person who changed my life forever.  I was spending hours in the gym getting stronger but few physical results were showing.  I wanted to take my workouts a step further.  I needed someone to push me since I had the tendency to give up on myself.  Chris Kenny walked by and instantly challenged me.  I started training with him that week.  Now not only do I have all the local records and many National records but 9  new World Records.  I am a completely different person on the outside but more importantly on the inside.  It is ok to ask for help too!  I have been where you are now - unsure if you can go on, frustrated with your progress and feeling like giving up.  I promise if you believe in yourself and continue on a positive healthy path, you will receive all that is in store for you.  Both physically and mentally.  I believe in you!

TODAY

I love my life now!  I'm not saying life is easier but I have learned many important lessons.  Never give up on yourself because someone might be looking up to you.  Continue to move forward, set your goals and don't let anyone or  anything get in your way.  You never know what may happen in the future!  Five years ago I would have laughed in someone's face if they told me I would be a competitive power lifter and hold National  and World records.  Plus I had never even heard of the sport before!  One of my favorite quotes is from Eleanor Roosevelt "You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face... do the thing you think you cannot do!"

One last thing I want to let you know, my youngest son is 11 years old and is physically disabled.  he would give anything to have a body that can run, jump or even walk.  He keeps me going and believing in myself.  Remember when you want to give up there are others out there that would give anything to be able to work out and be strong.  Never ever give up!

I invite you to browse thorough my site and if you have any questions or comments please feel free to contact me anytime!  I would love to connect with you and hear your story too!

Stay Strong!
